Indian Bayou Homes

This Destin real estate community offering homes for sale is a mix of traditional brick ranch style residences, colonial, contemporary, and newer Mediterranean designs. The main thoroughfares are Country Club Road and Indian Bayou Drive with only one entrance, located off the West Commons Drive rotary east of Airport Road. Almost sixty homes are on Indian Bayou itself, most of which have deep water access and docks. Over seventy homes border the Indian Bayou golf course with sweeping backyard views of the fairways. The rest of the homes are located on the interior, some of which have water or golf course views.

Indian Bayou Amenities

The Indian Bayou Golf Club is one of Destin's most established courses and along the coast of Northwest Florida, which is lushly landscaped with towering majestic pine trees, sparkling lakes, and undulating greens. The semi-private golf club has three centrally connected nine-hole courses that are named Seminole, Choctaw, and Creek. Seminole has wide fairways, but four of the nine holes have some form of water. Choctaw also has four ponds or lakes with long fairways that make distance powering a thorough temptation, but the water hazards make "laying up" a safer option. The Creek Course is the most challenging since six of the nine fairways have water, and one has long lakes on each side, making a straight shot a necessity. Pars range from 68.4 to 74.7, depending upon the course and skill level. There is also a clubhouse with a pro shop, restaurant, and lounge. Comedian Bob Hope enjoyed a round of golf at Indian Bayou back in 1988, and other celebrities have also played this course in the past.

Indian Bayou Location

This Destin location is only a short drive away from local neighborhood beach access points, family amusements, and Henderson Beach State Park. A fantastic retail destination known as Destin Commons is also close by, featuring restaurants, an AMC Multiplex Movie Theater, fashion boutiques, and various specialty shops. HarborWalk Village on Destin's sprawling marina is less than ten minutes away. It is home to dockside restaurants with bars that play live music, family amusements for kids of all ages, free open-air concerts, fun festivals throughout the year, and colorful seasonal firework displays festively choreographed with outdoor music systems.
